Jana Herman is an artist and writer who uses photography, text, and sculptural elements. Her practice responds to ways forgetting, erasure and omission can contribute to a desire to continually seek understanding.
In 2015, she graduated from Oberlin College, where she studied with mentor, Pipo Nguyen-duy. She has since assisted artists across media, including Rachel Mica Weiss and Carrie Mae Weems. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, and tries to see the water every day.
